The day started with the 1pm show which showcased designer Gemma Hoi. The New York based designer has been nominated for many awards including CFDA, Teen Vogue, Eyes on Talent, WWD, Bergdorf Goodman’s Window Display and much more. Not to stop there, Gemma Hoi has worked for other major designers such as Marchesa and 3.1 Phillip Lim. She featured a denim inspired theme of uniforms of American Female factory workers of the 1940s. The title of her presentation was “Time Traveller 1940s”. She opened the show with creativity and designs that were draw dropping. Inspiration and creativity was displayed on the runway by designer Gemma Hoi!

The show continued to please with designers wowing the crowd. The 4pm runway shows featured three designers. The first was Lavanya Coodly who debuted her line of womenswear and menswear. The inspiration came from fleeing the everyday reality, and being that traveler within the world without departing. Streetwear inspired designs was presented by designer Steven Crash. The combination of reality and outer space was the fantasy that was giving on the runway as models graced the floor. Steven University is a collection designed, sourced and produced by students who were inspired this season by The Evolution of Bjork.

The show continued to amaze the audience and closed with the 7pm collective runway shows. By Sonia Olla surprised the crowd with a live flamenco performance. The designer passion for femininity and Style was loved by the crowd. The designers for Vitruvius gave us noting but style with its Venetian style shoulder pads, rising sleeves and ruffles were nothing more than pure detail and creativity that was fit for a goddess. When you want to complete your outfit, accessories is the way to go. Designer Aranyani gave us luxury with showing their hand crafted leather bags. This was by Indian artisans for men and women to their outfit pop. They consisted of bras, briefcases and backpacks. In the finale neon signs and the city skyline of Tokyo was exhibited by designer BC.J. BC.J is a Chinese brand that is based in Shanghai and New York. The designs were beautifully crafted with an assortment of colors. Classy and modern is what I describe BC.J designs.
